CHAPTER 3

After counting twenty spring moons, Oradera set out for a special trip into the Grenah Deen.

"At last! At last! To see the flower for which I was named after!" she couldn't help repeating over in her mind as she set off into night.

When she arrived at the flower tree, she settled down onto a smooth pebble, which was more than a safe distance away from the flower's scent, and waited patiently for the sun.

One by one, little pins of light of the first spring day began poking through the thick emerald forest. Gently, they woke the Oradera flower from its deep sleep.

Oradera sat straight up as she watched the silent flower show. It was the greatest show she had ever seen. Just like Madam Vu said it would be.

As she sat there in a happy trance, she smiled at the thought of being named after something that was so spectacular and so alive. But the thought didn't last too long - because out from of the darkness, she heard a slight rustle.

"Someone approaches?’’ she thought nervously as she transformed herself into a glowing mushroom. She waited for whoever was approaching to come into view. Seconds later a stunning young fairy stumbled into the little clearing. She watched how his blinding greenish-yellow wings shimmered in the sun. They threw splashes of color all over the place with every movement he made. He was great to look at. She giggled at the thought of his hair looking like a cluster of autumn leaves, with it's reds, browns and many shades of gold.

"Ooh, how beautiful he is!" she cooed to herself as she studied him closely. But being self-conscious of her appearance, Oradera remained hidden as a lonely little mushroom.

She watched with fascination as the Oradera flower quietly captured his attention.

"No........" Oradera whispered as he stepped forward to smell the flower, but she was too late. She watched him helplessly as he rubbed his eyes in confusion.
